Description

Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in automotive manufacturing? Do you have a proven track record of leading production teams, driving operational performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Daventry. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day manufacturing operation, leading multiple departments to ensure production targets, quality standards and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

Location: Daventry

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm

Duties

  • Lead and manage all manufacturing operations across welding, fabrication, assembly and warehouse functions.
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Monitor production performance, labour utilisation and operational KPIs including on-time delivery, productivity and work in progress (WIP).
  • Coordinate purchasing and material planning activities to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and subcontract services.
  • Manage warehouse operations including goods receiving, stock control, storage and dispatch.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment and infrastructure are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company procedures and UK legislation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve operational performance.
  • Develop, coach and support supervisors and operational teams through effective leadership and performance management.
  • Work closely with senior management to support business growth and achieve strategic objectives.

The Ideal Candidate Must

  • Have proven experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Have previous experience within fabrication, engineering or manufacturing.
  • Possess a strong understanding of production planning, supply chain and manufacturing operations.
  • Have experience managing multiple departments and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Hold a current NEBOSH qualification with a good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
  • Be highly organised with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
