Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers receive their items on time. As an Operations Manager, you'll bring teams together to drive excellence in safety, quality, and productivity across our sites. You'll lead other managers and create operational plans that help teams meet their targets. This role focuses on driving operational excellence to create the Amazon of tomorrow.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers, providing mentorship and coaching to support their professional growth
  • Lead operational teams during assigned shifts, addressing escalations and implementing solutions to enhance site performance
  • Analyse performance metrics against business objectives and develop action plans to drive operational excellence
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security, to ensure seamless operations
  • Design and implement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and safety outcomes across the fulfillment center

A day in the life

You'll be the key link between a number of teams, including finance, safety and operations integration teams. That means you'll be close to the day-to-day operations at your site while also contributing to new ways to innovate.

A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for your site, and looking ahead to prepare for different levels of demand. Every day will also involve mentoring and coaching your team. You'll be a source of leadership and support your managers to be the best they can be.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
