Operations Manager
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to join our developer services team within M Group, a leading infrastructure provider.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop while ensuring the successful delivery of essential water and wastewater services. Join a safety-first, customer-centric team where innovation and progress are prioritised.

Where will you be working?
At M Group, we are dedicated to safeguarding the water supply, enhancing environmental performance, and managing demands for future generations. We extend asset life and ensure compliance with water quality and environmental standards through over 140 years of combined engineering and infrastructure experience.
This role focuses on water and wastewater services, lateral drain installation, and enabling new developments to access critical utilities.
What will you be doing?
As Operations Manager, you will:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Delivery Team – Drive operational excellence to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes that consistently meet or exceed client expectations.
- Project Delivery Leadership – Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to exceptional standards while aligning with client specifications.
- Financial Accountability – Set and manage budgets, meeting regulatory requirements and performance targets while fostering profitability.
- Operational Metrics & Reporting – Monitor and report on financial, programme, and quality performance collaborative with stakeholders.
- Team Development – Cultivate and grow the Delivery Team through mentorship, training, and effective performance management.
- Safety Culture Advocacy – Embrace safety-first principles and champion initiatives focused on zero harm and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder & Client Management – Build strong regional and client relationships while driving customer satisfaction.
- Performance Reviews – Consistently align projects to cost, time, and quality objectives.

What You’ll Bring
Essential criteria for success in this role include:
- Experience in water and metering projects – In-depth knowledge of metering operations within the water sector.
- Senior Team Leadership – Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams within a regulated water environment.
- Budget & Milestone Management – Skilled in delivering against both financial and operational milestones safely.
- Communication Skills – Strong drive and energy to develop motivated, high-performing teams.
- Risk & Commercial Acumen – Adept at identifying risks, making commercial decisions, and balancing business growth.
