How You Will Make a Difference
The primary role of the Manager, Operations is to:
- Plan, direct, and oversee operational activities within an assigned category
- Guide personnel to ensure technical and career progress
- Build empowered, cohesive teams for continuous operational improvements
- Work closely with Sales Team and customers to enhance product knowledge, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery
- Oversee Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control supervisors to resolve issues and maintain service excellence
- Foster a lean operational environment while maintaining direct engagement with customers
Key Responsibilities
To ensure effective daily operations:
Core Operational Oversight
- Manage production units and logistical handling of contaminated products, ensuring safe site collection and quality-sterilised delivery to customers
- Monitor capital equipment against established performance and efficiency metrics
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Assume prime site responsibility for Health & Safety Policy, ensuring all procedures are followed
- Oversee Fire Control protocols as defined on-site
- Ensure staff receive appropriate risk-specific training
Process & Quality Assurance
- Provide oversight for process compliance, ensuring despatched products align with Company Quality guidelines
- Promote a quality-driven culture and champion ongoing optimisation initiatives
- Lead maintenance coordination while liaising with relevant teams to resolve disruptions

Production & Planning
- Align production schedules with customer specifications
- Endorse test reports in line with NHS guidance (User Authority approvals)
Workforce Support
- Monitor absence trends and staff performance, analysing data for actionable insights
- Conduct interviews and refer employees to the Company Medical Advisor as required
- Support employees through Synergy Health Performance Management framework and conduct mentorship programmes
Financial Accountability
- Establish and maintain financial targets while driving adherence to budgets and cost structures
Emergency & Communication
- Participate in the on-call management service to address urgent customer needs
- Lead internal communications, including team briefings, forums, and meetings
Development & Leadership
- Cultivate leadership by nurturing change initiatives, collaborative problem-solving, and innovation
- Develop teamwork to enhance operational effectiveness
- Coach and mentor staff to nurture talent and career progression
- Drive continuous improvement through structured feedback and development programmes
Required Experience & Skills
- Leadership: Ability to motivate teams, lead change, and champion vision
- Team Synergy: Foster collaborative problem-solving and decision-making as a group
- Coaching & Development: Guide team growth through structured feedback and mentorship
- Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office with prior experience in Oracle preferred
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of departmental budgets, cost structures, and financial fluency
- Problem-Solving: Introduce innovative and practical solutions to business challenges
