Operations Manager

Senior Operations Manager – FM England PFI (Bradford Schools)

📍 Basis: Bradford office with site travel (company car included) ⏰ Hours: 37.5 per week

About the Role

We seek an experienced Permanent Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Facilities Management (FM) England PFI contract across Bradford Schools, managing up to three school sites with two direct reports (Premises Managers).

This role requires a self-starter who can embed themselves within the account, leading teams, relationships, and operations efficiently. A UK driving license and PFI/Education experience are essential.


Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Client Management:

    • Line-manage the team across the account (up to 2 direct reports).
    • Engage and represent the client (Bradford Schools PFI).
  • Contract Delivery:

    • Drive performance and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Be the point of escalation for customer issues.
    • Manage the budget and review profit & loss to keep contract requirements on track.
  • Facilities & Compliance:

    • Provide Facilities Management leadership to ensure operational efficiency and statutory/compliance adherence.
    • Support the Account Manager in managing contractual obligations and client expectations.

  • Performance & Reporting:
    • Monthly Service Delivery performance reporting (or as requested).
    • Ensure value for money and maximised profitability while delivering high-quality service.

Requirements

Essential Experience:

✅ PFI/education background (familiarity with UK school FM services) ✅ Strong people management skills (ability to lead teams across the account) ✅ Senior-level stakeholder relationship management (school leadership teams) ✅ Operations & Facilities Management (health & safety, multi-site workflows) ✅ Experience managing budgets, profit margins, and contractual delivery ✅ Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation (fast-paced, complex operational environments) ✅ Primary site interventions from a Facilities/Operations perspective ✅ Full UK Driving License (Company car provided)

Desirable Skills:

✔ Experience in estate/compliance management (school environments preferred) ✔ Background in decision-making under pressure and cost-effective service delivery ✔ Strong communication & stakeholder engagement in educational settings
