Role Description
The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Denstone, overseeing daily tanker, jetting, and road sweeper activity. This role manages scheduling and allocation of vehicles, equipment, and drivers to meet client requirements and service commitments. The Operations Manager monitors job progress, ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and addresses operational issues as they arise. Responsibilities include coordinating with customers, preparing basic operational reports, supporting fleet maintenance planning, and optimizing routes and workflows for efficiency. The role also involves supervising field staff, supporting training, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and service quality.

Qualifications

- Experience in operations management or transport coordination within haulage, plant hire, or related industries.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and route optimization.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to tanker, jetting, and road sweeper operations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with drivers, field staff, and customers.
- Ability to use basic IT systems for scheduling, reporting, and record-keeping.
- Proven problem-solving skills and capacity to make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
- Experience supervising teams and supporting performance, training, and adherence to procedures.
- Full, clean driving license; experience in the local area and transport sector is advantageous.
- Previous experience in operations, logistics, or fleet management is desirable; relevant vocational or professional qualifications are a plus.
