Operations Manager
The Operations Manager role is a senior leadership role responsible for operation performance, service scalability, resource management, infrastructure, business growth, and implementing the strategy and vision for the company.
This role goes beyond day-to-day management. You will design, implement, and optimise systems, lead data-driven performance management, oversee organisational assets, and ensure the service is positioned for regional and national expansion of multiple NHS contracts as well as private referrals.
You will work at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring the organisation delivers high-quality care, strong financial performance, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Infrastructure
- Provide full operational leadership across all clinical and non-clinical functions in the ADHD and Autism service.
- Design and implement scalable operating models to support growth with the support of the operational director and CEO.
- Oversee capacity planning, workforce modelling, and service delivery frameworks.
- Ensure operational resilience, efficiency, and continuity planning.
Performance Management & KPIs
- Deliver and manage a robust KPI framework across all services.
- Monitor and report on:
- Clinical utilisation rates
- Waiting times and patient flow
- Assessment and report turnaround times
- DNA (Did Not Attend) rates, and WNB.
- Revenue per clinic / clinician
- Cost efficiency, staff efficiency, and margin performance.
Service Development & Growth
- Lead the development and expansion of ADHD and Autism services.
- Identify and implement new service lines, pathways, and delivery models.
- Support geographical expansion and national scaling strategy.
- Drive innovation in digital systems, patient pathways, and service delivery in line with agreed service delivery plans.
- Consider systems development using technology and AI.

Asset & Resource Management
- Oversee all operational assets including:
- Clinical rooms and facilities
- IT systems and platforms
- Medical equipment and assessment tools
- Ensure optimal utilisation, maintenance, and cost-effectiveness of assets.
- Implement asset tracking and lifecycle management processes.
Team Leadership & Organisational Development
- Lead and grow a high-performing operations function (scaling from 7 to 15+ staff).
- Build a structured management layer with clear accountability.
- Develop leadership capability within the team.
- Drive a performance-driven, accountable, and solution-focused culture.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day operational compliance with CQC, safeguarding, and clinical governance standards working alongside the Quality and Compliance Director.
- Complete operational audit, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Escalation of risk and complex patients.
- Maintain oversight of policies, SOPs, and regulatory readiness.
- Create a culture of safety and openness to learn.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Contribute to budget setting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Drive profitability through operational optimisation.
- Support contract development (private, NHS, and partnerships).
Strategic Leadership
- Act as a key member of the senior leadership team.
- Translate strategic goals into operational delivery plans.
- Support long-term organisational planning and growth strategy.
- Provide insight through data, performance trends, and market awareness.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Significant experience in a senior operational leadership role (healthcare or similar regulated sector).
- Commercially minded, performance, and outcome-driven.
- Proven track record of scaling services and improving operational performance.
- Strong experience in KPI development, data analysis, and performance management.
- Experience managing budgets, assets, and operational infrastructure.
- Experience leading and developing multi-layered teams.
