The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Operations Manager looking to take the next step in your career with a well-established and growing electronic security business? Our client designs, installs and maintains a broad range of electronic security solutions for commercial customers across a variety of sectors. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an Operations Manager to lead their Projects and Service teams, ensuring the highest standards of customer delivery, operational performance and team development. Based from their St Albans office (approximately 80% office-based, with occasional travel to customer sites), this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you'll play a key role in shaping operations and supporting future growth.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operational delivery of projects and service contracts, working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and commercial teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably. You'll be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving processes, supporting your teams and building strong, long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Projects and Service teams.
- Oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects and maintenance contracts.
- Manage operational performance, resource planning and workload allocation.
- Coach, mentor and develop Project Managers and Engineers.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Monitor project profitability and operational performance.
- Support forecasting, planning and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement across operational processes.
- Ensure Health & Safety, quality and compliance standards are maintained.
- Work closely with the wider management team to support the ongoing growth of the business.
About You
You'll already have experience within the electronic security industry and be comfortable leading operational teams in a fast-paced environment. Whether your background is in Operations Management, Contracts Management, Project Management or Service Delivery, you'll understand what it takes to successfully manage people, customers and project delivery.
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience managing operational teams within the electronic security industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Good commercial awareness and financial understanding.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- A customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills.
- A proactive mindset and a passion for improving operational performance.

Knowledge of Access Control, CCTV or other electronic security systems would be advantageous, but this is fundamentally an operational leadership role rather than a hands-on technical position.
