About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and driven Operations Manager to join a growing and evolving business in North Yorkshire. This is a newly created role designed to support the senior leadership team as the business continues to expand its service offering, improve operational performance, and drive future growth. As such, this position offers genuine career development potential, with the successful candidate being viewed as a future successor into a senior leadership role.
We are looking for an individual who combines strong operational leadership with commercial awareness, someone who can challenge existing ways of working, identify improvement opportunities, and play a key role in modernising the business. Industry experience is not essential. We are interested in individuals who can demonstrate leadership capability, a continuous improvement mindset, and a genuine ambition to progress their career.
The Role
Reporting directly into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and contribute to strategic business objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting operational performance across the business and ensuring high levels of service delivery.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analysing operational data and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making.
- Working closely with leadership to support business growth and expansion plans.
- Managing and developing operational teams to achieve performance objectives.
- Driving accountability through KPI management and performance reviews.
- Reviewing and improving operational processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting change management projects and business transformation initiatives.
- Promoting a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused culture.

About You
We are looking for an ambitious operational leader who is ready for their next challenge. You may currently be working as an:
- Operations Manager
- Logistics Manager
- Distribution Manager
- Site Manager
- Service Centre Manager
- Assistant General Manager
- Deputy General Manager
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience leading operational teams within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions impact business performance.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Experience driving process improvement, operational excellence, or business change initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence, motivate, and develop people.
- A growth mindset and desire to progress into a more senior leadership position.
- Experience within logistics, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, utilities, field service, or related operational environments.
