Operations Manager

24 hours per week
£13.50–£14.50 per hour
Help keep one of Whitstable's most valued community spaces thriving

The Umbrella Centre is more than just a building. It's a welcoming place where people come together to learn, create, celebrate and connect. From community groups and workshops to live events and local organisations, we're proud to provide a space that supports the wellbeing and creativity of our community.

We're now looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Operations Manager to help ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you might be coordinating contractors, supporting volunteers and ensuring the Centre meets health and safety requirements; the next you'll be preparing spaces for events, supporting bookings or helping solve any operational challenge before visitors arrive.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
