We're now seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead our production operation at our Wednesbury site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong operational leader to drive performance, inspire teams, and deliver operational excellence within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the site's production function, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of operational targets. Working closely with Engineering, Logistics, Service and Textile teams, you'll play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement, enhancing productivity, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, quality circles, and operational review forums.
  • Analyse production performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, driving performance improvements across the site.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges effectively.
  • Support customer service excellence by ensuring service commitments are consistently met.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, helping reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.

Production Management

  • Plan, organise, and coordinate resources to ensure customer requirements are delivered On Time In Full (OTIF).
  • Optimise productivity, quality, and operational efficiency across all production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Monitor operational costs, investigate variances, and identify opportunities for improved cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic operational planning and capital investment proposals.
  • Deliver productivity and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high service and quality standards.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Foster a collaborative "One Team" culture across the site.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement and create a positive, performance-focused working environment.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with ambitious operational leaders who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in Operations, Production, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Management
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • A data-driven approach and strong problem-solving ability
  • Experience managing budgets, costs, and operational performance
  • A track record of delivering continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma expertise is highly desirable
