At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated logistics and supply chain professional to join us at our Grantham Distribution Center as an Operations Manager.

We recently launched our new Trading strategy, which in turn has meant changes to our wider distribution and logistics teams.

The Role

The Distribution and Logistics Operations Manager will have full site accountability, with responsibility for operational delivery, people leadership and real-time commercial performance. Working closely and deputising for the Head of Distribution & Logistics, the successful candidate will also play a key role in shaping and delivering national strategy while maintaining deep operational ownership of the distribution centre. In this hybrid role, you will combine strategic influence with hands-on leadership, providing an excellent opportunity to drive performance, lead high-performing teams and contribute to the continued success of a national logistics operation.

It’s a great opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager looking for their next step and an opportunity to deputise for a head of department. Or an experienced Senior Operations Manager looking for the chance to use their experience in a cause driven environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
