Operations Manager – Commercial Drone Operations
Location - Cambridge / Norwich / Bicester / Hybrid — UK Travel Required
Salary - £50,000/£70,000 + Benefits
An established technology business delivering advanced drone services is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of commercial UAV projects across the UK.
This position is suited to someone who has built their career within commercial drone operations and is comfortable taking ownership of multiple projects, managing field teams, and acting as the key operational contact for customers.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end planning and execution of commercial drone projects.
- Coordinate aerial survey, mapping, inspection, and data capture activities across multiple customer sites.
- Produce operational schedules, deployment plans, and resource allocations to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage the availability and deployment of aircraft, sensors, vehicles, equipment, and operational personnel.
- Support the delivery of complex flight operations, including beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) activities where appropriate.

Technical Skills
- Planning and delivering aerial survey and data capture projects.
- Managing drone-based mapping, inspection, and monitoring operations.
- Working with LiDAR and other remote sensing technologies.
- Preparing mission plans for complex UAV deployments.
- Conducting site assessments, operational planning, and risk management.
- Operating professional-grade UAV platforms and integrated sensor payloads.
