Operations Manager

Location: Carlisle Working Hours: 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shifts (6am–6pm) Salary: Competitive salary + benefits

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and hands-on Operations Manager to join our Carlisle site during an exciting period of transformation. This fast-paced production environment is ideal for someone who thrives in leadership, with a real impact on performance, people, and processes.

You will oversee day-to-day operations across 7 key production lines, managing a workforce of ~200 people. Each 24-hour cycle produces up to 200,000 units, requiring exceptional planning and efficiency to maintain smooth and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Production Managers (days & nights) with effective shift handovers
  • Drive performance against KPIs, including material usage, labour variances, and efficiency metrics
  • Proactively manage production challenges (breakdowns, staffing gaps, rolling shortages)
  • Engage directly on the factory floor, aligning with start-up processes, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Collaborate on site-wide transformation initiatives, working with engineering, hygiene, technical, and planning teams
  • Analyse operational data, chair meetings, and turn insights into actionable improvements

About You

We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams
  • Proven experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • A practical, hands-on approach with confidence to work alongside staff on the shop floor
  • Skill in balancing data-driven strategies with day-to-day operational execution
  • Drive, resilience, and a proactive mindset—treating challenges as opportunities
