Job Title

Operations Manager / Founders Associate

Salary

Not Disclosed

Company Description

Paddington Robotics Limited is a London-based robotics startup backed by 7percent Ventures, building AI-powered robots for the unpredictable retail world. Founded by Zehan Wang (Magic Pony), they bridge the gap between research and reality by deploying autonomous systems into supermarkets to handle complex manual labor tasks alongside humans.

Job Description

As the first non-engineering hire at Paddington Robotics Limited, you will serve as the "central brain" for the business. You'll partner with the founders to build operational infrastructure from scratch, automate internal processes using cutting-edge AI tools, and manage the logistics of deploying hardware to customer sites across the UK.

Location

London, UK

Why this role is remarkable

  • Join as the first non-engineering hire, working directly with founders like Zehan Wang (Magic Pony) to build a category-defining robotics company from the ground up.
  • Get hands-on experience with real-world deployments in supermarkets, moving beyond simulations to solve the "messy chaos" of physical environments backed by 7percent Ventures.
  • Full ownership of the operational playbook, with the mandate to use advanced AI tools like Claude and Cursor to automate every facet of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
