Operations Manager – Warehouse

About the Role
A full-time, permanent Operations Manager position, covering:
- Day-to-day management of a complex warehouse operation for a brand-market-leading client
- Deputising the General Manager as required
- Maximising operational performance through leadership, employee engagement, and KPI-driven excellence
- Monday to Friday (08:00–16:00)
Key focus areas include profitability, sustainable growth, and meeting the highest customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Performance
- Oversee all warehouse activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution
- Drive consistent achievement of KPIs, aligning with customer expectations
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement, innovating processes for efficiency
- Develop and implement visual management techniques for operational control
Team Management & Development
- Lead and mentor the entire operational team
- Identify high-potential employees for succession planning
- Recruit, train, and retain a high-calibre team committed to quality and premium standards
- Foster an exciting and inclusive communication strategy, ensuring full team engagement

Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure H&S is a top priority, aligned with site/business guidelines
- Maintain a productive and safe working environment
- Resolve personnel issues legally and promptly
Financial & Stakeholder Relations
- Oversee budget management and cost control
- Engage with customers and representatives through a partnership-based approach
- Represent the company professionally in all internal/external interactions
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven operational management experience in an FMCG warehouse setting
- Team leadership skills – ability to motivate, develop, and mentor staff
- Succession planning expertise and a strategic outlook
- Broad understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience in KPI tracking, budget management, and productivity analysis
- Knowledge of health and safety standards (with drive for cultural improvement)
- Strong collaborative skills to work within site management towards broader goals
