The Role

The Travel Fox looks after holiday homes properly. Four years in, we are growing steadily, and we now need someone to take charge of how the operation runs from one day to the next. It is a position in which responsibility genuinely rests with you: some 130 homes across the country — their cleaning, their maintenance and the experience of every guest — run through a remote team of assistants who in turn manage our cleaners and tradespeople. When a boiler fails on a Friday evening, it falls to you to see it put right. You would begin alongside our COO to learn how we do things and, in due course, take the department on and build it — with a second appointment made beneath you as we grow.

What it involves

  • Service across the portfolio — every changeover done properly, without exception
  • A remote team of assistants co-ordinating cleaners and tradespeople across the country
  • Guest experience, and the upkeep of our Superhost standing on the main account
  • Quality — persuading owners of the improvements their homes warrant, arguing from evidence (you will have tools that read every review) rather than opinion
  • Owner relationships, the handling of matters that go awry, and the holding of standards as we grow

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The person we have in mind

Organised, level-headed and difficult to fluster. You may already be running a hundred and fifty homes or more as a head of operations; equally, you may be a step below that and ready to prove your worth. You take ownership of problems, act promptly, and carry others with you. A background in holiday lets, serviced accommodation, property or multi-site operations helps — though character and judgement matter more.

What we offer

  • £38,000 to £48,000 depending on experience, plus a quarterly bonus for maintaining our Superhost standard on the main account
  • Genuine investment in your development, and advancement to Head of Operations as the portfolio grows
  • Properly flexible remote working — flexible mornings, core hours of eleven to six, on call thereafter; no commute, and no clock to watch
  • A pension and holiday as you would expect, and the tools and support to do the job well

About The Travel Fox

Founded in 2022 and based in Leicestershire, we manage around 130 holiday homes across England, Wales and Scotland — every one visited in person before we take it on. We are a small team with high standards and no outside investors: owners come first, and there are no exit fees.

Our approach marries the analytical with the personal — as one might expect of two directors whose backgrounds lie in chemical engineering and pure mathematics. Demand and pricing are modelled from data every day, so a home stays booked the year round; yet a guest’s enquiry is still answered, by a real person, within minutes. The computers do the calculating; the people do the caring. Better than five thousand five-star reviews suggest the balance is about right.
