Operations Manager

Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will lead, manage, and continuously develop production teams to deliver operational objectives aligned with the overall site and business strategy. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, logistics, and service teams to drive operational efficiency, maximise facility utilisation, and embed a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking.

Description

Operational Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and develop production teams to deliver against operational targets
  • Set clear objectives and provide ongoing performance feedback
  • Deputise for the General Manager when required

Production & Planning

  • Plan, organise, and coordinate resources to deliver production output on time and in full (OTIF)
  • Ensure all output meets required specifications and service commitments
  • Drive productivity, service, and operational performance across all production areas

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and forums to identify and resolve operational issues
  • Analyse performance data and KPIs, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions
  • Promote lean thinking and operational excellence across the site
  • Support sustainability initiatives including reducing environmental impact

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, data protection, and company policies
  • Drive adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement of the working environment
  • Ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing production environment

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage operational budgets in line with business objectives
  • Monitor costs, investigate variances, and drive cost-effective performance
  • Support strategic planning and capital investment decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, logistics, and service teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders and customers where required
  • Ensure service delivery commitments are met and continuously improved

Profile

Experience

  • Proven experience in operations, production, or service-led environments
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams and driving performance
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives

Skills

  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions
  • Excellent organisational and planning capability
  • Customer-focused approach to service delivery
  • Financial awareness including budgeting and forecasting

Desirable

  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Knowledge of quality standards and regulated environments
