Operations Manager | RC Frame & Groundworks
Location: South Coast
Salary: £80,000 - £95,000
We are working with a well-established specialist contractor known for delivering high-quality reinforced concrete frame and groundworks packages. With a strong pipeline and ambitious growth plans, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take strategic ownership of project delivery across the business.
The role:
- Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent RC frame and groundworks projects, taking overall responsibility for operational performance
- Provide leadership and direction to project and site teams, including Contracts Managers and Project Managers
- Own resource planning across the portfolio, balancing labour, plant and subcontractors to meet programme demands
- Drive commercial performance, working closely with the commercial team on budgets, margins and project profitability
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, protecting and growing important relationships
- Set and uphold health, safety, quality and environmental standards across all live projects
- Contribute to operational strategy, process improvement and the continued growth of the delivery function

- Proven experience at Operations Manager or senior Contracts Manager level within civil engineering
- Strong background in RC frame construction and groundworks
- A track record of delivering multiple projects safely, to programme and to budget
- Commercial acumen and confidence managing project financials at portfolio level
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage senior client relationships
- Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS and a degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction (desirable)
