About The Role…

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team in Wakefield working within our Private Networks Division

  • You will lead the Projects Operational team within the Private Networks business, being fully accountable for H&S, Project Delivery, Customer Satisfaction and the Project Business P&L.
  • To operate as a member of the Private Networks senior leadership team, building strong working relationships with your peers and driving positive change across the business.
  • To work closely with the Engineering Manager (Projects) to ensure sufficient available and suitably skilled resource whilst maximising utilisation and work closely with the Sales Leaders to support key account planning, broadening and deepening customer relationships and ensuring high quality delivery.

Previous experience working in the High Voltage industry is essential for this position

As a Operational Manager you will…

  • Ensure the Project Team operates at the highest standards of Health & Safety.
  • Drive Project business growth and profitability – convert orders into revenue to meet financial targets maximising variations and profitability.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through excellent project delivery throughout the contractual chain and compliance with Ipsum processes and driving of continuous improvement.
  • Manage resources effectively to maximise utilisation.
  • Take ownership of working capital management and cash collection to ensure strong cashflow.
  • Lead, Develop and Motivate the Projects Team to ensure talent retention, personal development and high level of engagement.

  • Relevant Engineering Qualification (ONC/HNC or equivalent) and a Recognised Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent)
  • Detailed understanding of current HV/ LV electrical installation techniques with solid and up to date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and technical advances.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety practice and Risk Assessment.
  • Direct leadership experience in an project management/operational environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of driving H&S culture, compliance and safe systems of work.
  • Experience of financial forecasting and reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience of running a P&L.
  • Proven experience of leading, managing and developing a team of people.
