Site Operations Manager – Bridgwater Site (Hinkley Point C)

About the Role
We’re seeking a [Site Operations Manager] to lead our [Bridgwater site] and ensure operational KPIs are met, safety standards are upheld, and teams are developed to deliver excelling performance.
The Challenge
At Hinkley Point C, we’re constructing two new nuclear reactors—the first of a new generation delivering zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As a [Tier One partner to Nuclear New Build (NNB)], we supply essential warehousing and transportation services critical to the success of this project.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
A typical day will involve:
- Overseeing [day-to-day site operations], managing teams, contractors, and visitors.
- Liaising with stakeholders to coordinate site operations and meet processing volumes.
- [Leading from the front] on service delivery, budgetary KPIs, and contractual commitments.
- Ensuring all shift activities comply with:
- Site Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Site Standard Operating Worksheets (SSOWs)
- Safety procedures
- Driving a culture of [continuous improvement] and [career progression] within your team.
Requirements
What You’ll Need
To succeed at GXO, you must have:
- [Proven experience] in warehouse/distribution operations within a fast-paced environment.
- [Strong leadership skills] with the ability to coach and develop teams.
- [Excellent organisational and communication skills]—plus stakeholder management experience.
- [IT literacy] and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- [NEBOSH or CITB MAPS qualifications] will be advantageous.
- A [safety-first mindset] with knowledge of HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) and regulatory compliance.
