Your new company A leading industrial processing and bulk materials handling organisation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its senior leadership team in Humberside.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven operations professional to take ownership of a large-scale manufacturing and logistics operation, leading teams across production, material handling, maintenance coordination, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, improving efficiencies, and ensuring the safe delivery of customer requirements.

Your new role Reporting to the Site Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of site operations, ensuring production targets, service levels, and safety objectives are achieved. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing operational teams across a complex industrial site
  • Driving a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Managing operational performance against budget, KPIs, and customer expectations
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Working closely with maintenance, engineering, and logistics functions to maximise plant availability
  • Leading workforce planning and resource allocation activities
  • Supporting capital investment and operational improvement projects
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Site Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Background within bulk handling, materials processing, heavy manufacturing, ports, logistics, aggregates, recycling, chemicals, minerals, commodities, or a comparable industrial environment
  • Strong people leadership and team development experience
  • Demonstrable success in driving operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental management within a high-hazard environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Budget management and commercial awareness
