Operations & Compliance Manager (Residential Solar)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + potential bonus Location: Alton, Hampshire (5 days office-based)

You’ll become the linchpin between sales, installations, and compliance, owning the delivery journey from contract signing through to MCS certification. With clear authority and the autonomy to enhance workflows, you’ll ensure every project runs smoothly, on time, and to the highest standards. Your proactive approach will transform operations, making you an indispensable leader in an expanding renewable energy business.
What You’ll Do
People & Process Leadership
- Lead two dedicated office administrators, setting priorities, delegating tasks, and fostering accountability to meet strict deadlines.
- Each morning, review progress, align resources, and resolve bottlenecks to ensure the admin function operates efficiently.
- Champion continuous process improvements, replacing rote compliance with smart, sustainable practices.

Operational Coordination
- Coordinate installation schedules, arrange scaffolding, and liaise with suppliers to maintain seamless workflows.
- Maintain meticulous compliance records and track project milestones.
- Proactively flag potential delays before they impact customers and provide confident, solution-focused communication.
Escalation & Problem-Solving
- Serve as the trusted escalation point for challenges like:
- Product shortages
- Site issues
- Documentation discrepancies
- Resolve issues independently to avoid unnecessary involvement from senior management.

About You
- Experience: Seasoned operations or compliance manager from the solar, renewables, or electrical contracting sector, with NICEIC/MCS environments preferable.
- Leadership Style: Manage people with empathy and firmness, champion process improvements, and make confident decisions.
- Focus: Strong attention to detail ensures faultless documentation, with the ability to juggle customer queries, technical requirements, and tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
