Lead the future of electricity transmission in West London

This is your opportunity to lead the teams keeping London’s high-voltage electricity network safe, resilient and ready for Net Zero. We’re looking for a confident, inspiring Operations Leader to take charge of substation operations across five key sites in the London West area.

As Operations Manager, you’ll lead 13 direct reports and a wider team of up to 20 FTE — creating the conditions for people to do their best work. Through clear direction, coaching and visible safety leadership, you’ll build a high-performing team culture where safety, accountability and development come first. You’ll be at the centre of a major asset replacement programme, helping modernise critical infrastructure and support the transition to a cleaner energy future. From multi-million-pound capital projects and preventative maintenance to fault response and 24/7 network resilience, your leadership will directly influence the reliability of electricity transmission across the region.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
