Job Summary

The Operations Manager at our Winterbourne site leads Production and Maintenance, collaborating closely with the Plant Leadership Team to force excellence in plant management under the Plant Governance Manager (PGM)'s direction. The role is critical to the site’s safety culture, compliance, continuous improvement, and alignment with operational goals.

  • Financial Leadership: Ensure delivery of budget, production volumes, costs, and capital expenditure (Capex)

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Define, manage, and improve organisational processes (roles, responsibilities, headcounts, shifts, activities) within company policies and financial constraints
    • Optimise production capacity to meet demand on schedule
    • Design and monitor KPIs to track operational performance
  • Value Chain Optimization:

    • Align customer demands with plant objectives
    • Drive cost reduction through inventory management
  • Innovation & Efficiency:

    • Develop continuous improvement plans across site operations
    • Foster a culture of agility, efficiency, and forward-thinking (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Leadership & Team Development:

    • Model Amcor’s values while empowering the team to achieve excellence
    • Enhance team performance and develop leadership capabilities
  • Organisational & Motivation:

    • Maintain high collaboration, motivation, and engagement across workforce
  • Safety Culture (Core Focus):

    • Enforce safety programs and 倡导 a proactive safety mindset
    • Champion the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) system, ensuring compliance and involvement in training
    • Develop and disseminate safety protocols for all operations
    • Educate on HSE responsibilities, ensuring adherence to hygiene rules and appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Compliance & Quality:

    • Stick to hygiene standards to prevent product contamination
    • Prioritise data integrity, product integrity, and standards compliance (ISO 14001, ISO 13485)

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Senior Operations Management: Proven track record in fast-paced manufacturing, particularly in highly regulated environments (Packaging experience is advantageous but not mandatory).

  • Change Leadership: Experience driving manufacturing transformations,LEAN implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).

  • Education: Bachelor’s (or higher) in Science, Technology, or Engineering preferred.

  • People & Safety Leadership:

    • Proactive, values-driven leadership with people engagement at core
    • Adept at troubleshooting challenges, identifying gaps, and implementing solutions.
    • Passionate about transforming operations through structured methods
    • Positive, team-oriented personality with strong facilitation skills
