Operations Manager

Bridgestaff Group are working with a well-established specialist delivering high-quality services across the UK construction industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee teams across multiple live construction sites nationwide.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to an individual with a strong background in painting and protective coatings, combined with proven experience managing teams, client relationships, and project delivery within the construction sector.
The position involves regular travel and working away from home, alongside one office-based day per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise painting and coatings teams across multiple UK construction sites
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor works to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards
- Liaise with clients, principal contractors, and on-site management teams
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and audits using digital reporting systems
- Prepare accurate quotations and detailed work specifications
- Coordinate the hire and utilisation of plant, equipment, and resources
- Ensure the correct selection and application of paint products and coating systems
- Monitor productivity, performance, and quality across multiple sites
- Provide leadership, coaching, and day-to-day management of site teams
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety requirements

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within the construction industry, ideally within painting, coatings, or surface treatments
- Demonstrable experience managing operational teams across multiple sites
- Strong knowledge of HVLP and airless spraying systems
- Good understanding of paint products, coating specifications, and application techniques
- Experience carrying out site surveys and producing quotations
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Flexible approach to travel and working away from home when required
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Valid CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence

Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 - £49,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Company van and fuel card
- Expenses covered when working away, including overnight allowance
