We are looking for Multi-Skilled Production Operatives to join our team at Ultrapharm, part of the Finsbury Food Group, to support our safe, high-quality, and efficient food production operation.
Ultrapharm is a dedicated gluten-free bakery, specialising exclusively in gluten-free products since 1993. Our craft-led approach creates premium products with the flavour and texture of traditional bakery goods, supplying major UK retailers including Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.
This is a hands-on, varied role where you'll work across multiple production lines and areas, operating machinery and supporting different stages of the manufacturing process. We're particularly looking for individuals who already have experience in key production functions such as weigh-up, mixing, forming, ovens, packing, and flow wrapping, and who are keen to further develop their skills in a multi-skilled environment. You'll also play a key role in maintaining our hygiene, safety, and quality standards. It's an excellent opportunity to build on your existing experience, develop new skills, become multi-skilled, and grow within a supportive manufacturing environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is what you’ll actually do!
As a Multi-Skilled Production Operative, you’ll support day-to-day production across the site, moving between lines and tasks to meet operational needs. You’ll safely operate machinery, follow production plans, and ensure all work is completed to the highest quality and food safety standards.
You’ll take responsibility for completing production and compliance paperwork accurately, maintaining a clean and safe working environment through a strong clean-as-you-go approach, and supporting end-of-shift and deep-cleaning activities. You’ll wear the correct PPE at all times, follow health, safety, hygiene, and allergen controls, and report any issues or hazards promptly.
You’ll also take part in training and cross-skilling, support colleagues by sharing knowledge, and provide ASH cover by stepping up or down a level when required to keep the operation running smoothly.
To be successful in this role, you will be a reliable and flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll have a strong passion for quality, hygiene, and food safety, and take pride in doing things right first time.
