Salary: Circa £45,000 + Car Allowance (Depending on experience)
Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Base Location: South Wales (Swansea) and South Yorkshire (Huddersfield) areas desirable. (Home based)
At Alpheus, part of the Anglian Water Group, we deliver specialist water, wastewater and environmental solutions to industrial and commercial customers. Our projects help improve environmental performance, operational efficiency and sustainability across the UK.
We are looking for an Operations Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse portfolio of operational and capital improvement projects. From lagoon desludging and reedbed refurbishments through to health and safety improvements and minor civil, mechanical and electrical works, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This is an exciting opportunity for a project professional who enjoys working closely with customers, contractors and operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Manage projects typically valued between £50,000 and £500,000.
- Develop project plans including CPP, programmes and delivery strategies.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
- Monitor project costs and financial performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers.
- Undertake site visits to monitor H&S, quality and progress.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, RAMS reviews and completion records.
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
- Provide regular project updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Read and understand the customer’s scope and develop and produce compliant cost estimates and delivery plans.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Attend customer meetings and site visits during tender stages.
- Provide practical delivery input to ensure proposals are realistic and deliverable.

Essential Requirements
- HNC/HND, apprenticeship, technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing engineering, environmental, utilities or construction projects.
- Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, programmes and risks.
- Experience delivering operational or infrastructure projects.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound judgement, problem-solving ability and a hands-on approach.
- Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Project.
- Flexibility to travel regularly to operational sites.

Desirable Requirements
- Degree-qualified in an engineering, environmental or construction discipline.
- Water and wastewater industry experience.
- Experience delivering lagoon, desludging or reedbed projects.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (training provided if not already qualified)
