Operations Shift Manager
Operations Shift Manager Location – Middlesbrough Glanbia Performance Nutrition Join this dynamic team focused on delivering better nutrition for every step of life’s journey. The Opportunity The Operations Shift Manager is employed to manage, coach and develop the overall effectiveness of the factory teams through the Operations Line Leads (OLL)*. They are accountable for ensuring a safe and effective work environment through development of and compliance with supporting systems. Their core responsibility is to achieve or exceed the Departmental KPIs covering Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Efficiency.
This permanent position will report to the Production Manager.
Ensuring teams skills are managed by OLLs and improved using appropriate tools and ensuring training is delivered Mentoring and developing the OLL’s in all aspects of their role. Managing human resources to deliver the production & training plans Building and delivering plans to reduce material variance & yield loss Developing and delivering yield loss reduction plans Lead and develop teams to deliver effective of problem solving to impact department level metrics Coaching OLL’s in basic problem solving tools and techniques Reviewing visual management systems to drive actions Reviewing performance metric KPI 's at agreed cadence (shiftly/daily/weekly) - EHS OEE, CTP, Q, EHS, YIELD, MUV Collaborate with other shifts to mitigate performance differences across teams and deliver continuous improvement actions Deliver strategy & engagement survey improvement actions

Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably in Food/ Beverage in an equivalent position and a demonstrated ability to drive performance through people. Professional Qualification desirable in a manufacturing related discipline. Ideally with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, HACCP Certification and an understanding of Safety & Food Safety Program Compliance. Ability to motivate and engage teams with effective coaching, team development and consistent day to day accountability in plan execution to support business growth opportunities. Knowledge and Experience of Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Systems to impact KPIs (Lean Qualification Green Belt or higher Preferred or experience of Lean Manufacturing Techniques) Organising Skills, Ability to act at pace and think strategically with developed Project & Change Management. Enthusiasm and Energy – can do attitude Good computer literacy including SAP if possible
