Operations Supervisor

Distribution Team Leader – Supply Chain (Fixed-Term Contract, 6-9 Months)

Location: Wellingborough

Position: Distribution Team Leader – Supply Chain

Salary: £35,090.16 (annual)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Contract Type: Fixed-term (6–9 months)

Reporting To: Operations Manager


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team to meet and exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Assign and distribute work orders while ensuring fair workload distribution among team members
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement processes while planning daily operational activities
  • Act as the first point of contact for process and technical faults, escalating issues to relevant departments
  • Identify operational problems and initiate corrective actions, ensuring successful resolution
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with SLAs and service level specifications
  • Work in the SAP system for efficient order and resource management
  • Participate in resource planning, including staff and infrastructure allocation
  • Generate and evaluate reports to measure performance and efficiencies
  • Maintain quality and service-level standards across operations

Qualifications & Experience

Required skills and background:

  • Experience with computerised systems (e.g., SAP or similar logistics platforms)
  • Experience working in temperature-controlled environments (advantageous)
  • Strong reliability, time management, and organisation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Numerical and record-keeping skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, driving them to completion professionally
  • Strong customer-facing focus
