Role Overview

Working in conjunction with the Operations Manager, the Electrical Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in managing field staff as well as planning and the allocation of workforce to be most efficient and effective use of the workforce.

The Electrical Operations Supervisor will work alongside the Stores, Enquiries, and Business Support Teams to manage, plan, and execute all works and allocation of workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all paperwork and documentation is ready for the following working day for all field staff.
  • Ensure all company vehicles are clean, tidy, and fully road legal. It is the postholder's responsibility to ensure any defects, minor or otherwise, are reported appropriately.
  • Make sure all correct equipment is on vehicles in order to carry out all duties effectively to completion.
  • Undertake a meeting with engineers at the start and/or end of the day/week and prepare a summary for presentation to the Line Manager regarding all aspects of operations.
  • Allocate jobs and select appropriately trained staff to complete works to a safe and required standard.
  • Ensure effective communication with all field staff at all times: rearrange any work requirement should this be needed.
  • Carry out any site visits necessary to ensure correct and full RAMS be completed.
  • Keep both the client and Line Manager fully informed of operational change; the electrical operations supervisor is expected to be able to provide a full operational brief, written or verbal, to any senior member of staff with little or no prior notice.
  • Complete Method statements and Risk assessments as required.
  • Undertake regular tool box talks and audits and inspections.
  • Collate and check all paperwork and pass to the appropriate department for processing, this is to be done on a daily basis.
