Operations Supervisor

Operations Team Leader

Location: Wellingborough Salary: £35,090.00 (yearly) Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM


About the Role

You will be the Operations Team Leader at Arvato—a leading global 3PL service provider in supply chain management and e-commerce. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate your team to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Lead, manage, and mentee a team to achieve and exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Distribute work orders while maintaining fair workload distribution among employees
  • Steer and coordinate day-to-day activities, ensuring seamless operations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for process and technical faults, escalating issues as needed

Operational Efficiency & Problem-Solving

  • Identify process inefficiencies, issues, or problems and drive corrective actions with success metrics
  • Ensure SLA compliance and quality adherence
  • Participate in resource planning, including staffing and infrastructure
  • Analyse and improve processes to enhance operational excellence

Technical & System-Based Work

  • Proficiency in using SAP system for data management and reporting
  • Create and evaluate performance reports
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping and ensure documentation aligns with service standards

People Management

  • Oversee people management tasks, including team dynamics and development

Requirements

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Experience working with computerised inventory/supply chain systems
  • Familiarity with temperature-controlled environments (advantageous but not mandatory)
  • Strong numerical, organisational, and attention to detail skills

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • Reliable, disciplined, and highly organised time management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership—owning issues from start to finish with professionalism
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
