Operations Lead/Supervisor – South Ruislip
Note: This role requires a commitment of 32 hours per week.
About the Role
Operations is at the core of everything Amazon does, ensuring products reach customers on time and efficiently. As an Operations Lead/Supervisor, you’ll be the driving force behind seamless workflows, guiding teams to align with key business objectives and maintain operational excellence across shifts.
In this hands-on role, you’ll gain exposure to Amazon’s suite of tools and systems while supporting team members in adopting best practices. Your responsibilities span performance monitoring, cultural development, and problem-solving, ensuring both safety standards and productivity are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimise workflow metrics, track onsite performance, and provide real-time insights to frontline management for operational efficiency
- Support and train team members in delivering consistent service, including oversight of daily tasks and decision-making
- Assist the Shift/Area Manager in enhancing work processes, fostering safety and engagement, and addressing operational challenges
- Collaborate with other departments to solve recurring problems and support performance improvements
- Use data-driven analysis to assess and improve safety, quality, and productivity

A Day in the Life
Based in Amazon’s operational site, your daily duties will include:
- Leading pre-shift briefings and reinforcing adherence to procedures, including safety protocols and quality processes
- Ensuring your team defers to you (or senior staff) for guidance on task completion, particularly during peak demands
- Assisting the Shift/Area Manager with shift planning and staffing rosters to accommodate demand fluctuations
About the Team
Quick Commerce (QC) at Amazon delivers ultra-fast convenience through a city-centred warehouse network, paired with last-mile delivery solutions for 30-minute or less delivery. With a blend of retail logistics and Fresh/AMZL expertise, QC fulfils urgent customer requests while prioritising efficiency and a people-first approach.
Key components of operations include:
- Under-the-roof teams (order processing): High-velocity picking and packing to meet delivery deadlines
- On-the-road delivery network (Amazon Flex/e-bikes): Optimised for fast, city-centric deliveries with a focus on sustainability and quality

Basic Qualifications
To apply, you must have demonstrable experience in:
- Using the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting
- Working with data and analytics (tracked or unstructured)
- Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level, CEFR)
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, experience in the following would be advantageous:
- Stakeholder engagement (building and maintaining professional relationships)
- Any background in operational environments, such as:
- Logistics
- Retail
- Hospitality
- Customer service
