Operations Supervisor

Team Lead (Logistics & Supply Chain Operations)

About the Role

We are seeking a Team Lead to oversee and optimise our logistics operations in a temperature-controlled environment. Based in Wellingborough, this position offers a fixed-term contract (6-9 months), £35,090.16 annual salary, and Monday–Friday (8:30 AM–5:00 PM) working hours.

In collaboration with Arvato, a global 3PL leader in supply chain management, e-commerce, and logistics for industries like Consumer Products, Tech, Healthcare, Automotive, and Publishing, you will drive efficiencies, lead teams, and ensure service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team operations: Oversee and coordinate daily workflow to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
  • SLA management: Lead and support the team to achieve and exceed service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Work distribution: Allocate and balance workloads among team members.
  • Process improvement: Plan, steer, and implement operational processes.
  • Troubleshooting: Act as the first point of contact for technical/process issues, escalating reports internally.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify problems, initiate corrective measures, and track success.
  • SAP system expertise: Proficient use of SAP for day-to-day business activities.
  • Resource planning: Assist in managing staffing and infrastructure needs.
  • Reporting: Generate and evaluate daily, weekly, and performance reports.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure adherence to quality and service level specifications.
  • People management: Support team growth, mentoring, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Competency with computerised systems (e.g., ERP, logistics software).
  • Experience in temperature-controlled environments (advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Reliable, self-driven, and professional—able to take ownership of issues to resolution.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Effective written/verbal communication for team and cross-department collaboration.
  • Numeracy and attention to detail, with meticuleous record-keeping.
  • Customer-focused mindset aligned with delivering high-quality service.
