Role Overview
Location: Wellingborough Salary: £35,090.16 (yearly) Hours: 13:45 – 22:15 (shift-based) Contract Type: Fixed-term 6-9 months (FTC)
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll oversee and coordinate team activities to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of operations. This people-centric, process-driven role requires strong leadership, technical adaptability, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Delivery
- Oversee and coordinate team activities to exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure operational excellence.
- Distribute and balanced workloads among staff to maintain productivity.
- Steer, coordinate, and implement processes while planning daily business activities.
- Implement measures to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance process continuity.

Problem-Solving & Problem Resolution
- First point of contact for process and technical faults; escalate issues and initiate corrective action.
- Identify and resolve problems, driving successful outcomes and reinforcing SLA compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance; create and assess reports to inform decision-making.
Resource Management & Compliance
- Participate in resource planning (staff, inventory, and infrastructure).
- Ensuring quality and service level standards are met in a temperature-controlled environment (advantage if experienced).
- Maintain detailed record keeping (numerical and procedural data).
- Familiarity with SAP system required (experience is an advantage but not mandatory).
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage team efficiency, fostering ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
- Promote a customer-first culture and ensure adherence to company objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical & Process Skills
- Experience with computerised systems, especially those relevant to supply chain/warehouse logistics.
- Basic familiarity with SAP systems (training will be provided where required).
- Experience in temperature-controlled environments (desirable but not mandatory).
Soft Skills & Personal Traits
- Reliability, strong time management, and exceptional organisation skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal).
- Numerical and record-keeping proficiency; meticulous attention to detail.
- Problem-solving orientation: must demonstrate ability to own issues, implement solutions, and follow through.
