The Role: Operations Support Engineer

The Operations Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the uptime of all monitoring devices in the field, diagnosing, and reporting faults for a key account. While this role primarily focuses on one high-priority account, you will also support other accounts as needed. Technical support for field teams and external contractors is a key requirement.

Key priorities:

  • Guarantee high availability of all field devices
  • Timely incident escalation,
  • Safe, efficient, and compliant operations with:
    • Strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • High serviceability and commercial viability
    • Efficient service delivery times
    • Strict environmental, health and safety (OHS) standards

What You Will Do

  • Ensure all ticketing systems are accurately updated with information to maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and data integrity at all times.
  • Collaborate across internal and external stakeholders to optimise operations support outcomes.
  • Work with the Head of Operations Support to coordinate service visits.
  • Identify and escalate risks relating to:
    • Contractual obligations
    • Service delivery gaps
    • Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)
    • Compliance ensuring timely reporting to management.
  • Ensure adherence to service standards, OH&S regulations and client requirements.
  • Resolve cross-departmental issues to ensure high-quality execution and timeliness across the Operations team.
  • Conduction energy management system administration on a daily basis.
  • Provide technical support to field teams and vendors.
  • Compile and maintain documentation such as:
    • Product manuals
    • Commissioning reports
    • Technical specifications for projects and infrastructure.

What You Bring

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or fully qualified Trade Certificate in a relevant field.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a service/technical role, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Technical knowledge:
    • Experience with submetering systems
    • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Understanding of IoT (Internet of Things) applications.

  • Data-driven mindset—confident in key performance metrics, preparation of insightful reporting, and engage directly with leadership on its insights.
  • Seamless team player, bringing energy and problem-solving resilience to collaborative projects.
  • Results-driven with clear goal orientation, practical execution and vulnerability to deadlines.
  • Independant and collaborative, able to thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication required for reporting, stakeholder meetings, and internal documentation.
  • Strong supplier management skills and customer relationship management capabilities.
