Location: London/Paris

Aquis operates a hybrid working environment in London (minimum 3 office days/week) and Paris. Shift rota covers 07:00–18:00, with possible evening/weekend work.

Job Overview

As Support Manager, you’ll manage the Aquis and Aquis client exchange platforms, acting as the primary operational support contact for maintenance and high-availability during market hours. This hands-on leadership role blends technical expertise with team mentorship, ensuring seamless service delivery across fast-moving equity and derivatives markets.

The business is expanding, and the list of supported platforms may grow. Your work will include:

  • Leading a dynamic 1st-line support team with a focus on technical precision and collaboration.
  • Daily troubleshooting, knowledge-base maintenance, and cross-departmental coordination (Compliance, Surveillance, Infrastructure, Sales).
  • Reviewing releases, documenting incidents, and refining operational processes.
  • Stakeholder engagement to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Management & Maintenance

  • Oversee day-to-day operation and maintenance of Aquis platforms in partnership with the broader Exchange Operations Team.
  • Implement and deploy changes to support platform stability, performance, and scalability.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor a small support team, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide 1st-line technical support, triaging issues and escalating where necessary.

Technical Support & Incident Resolution

  • Respond to support queries with high-calibre customer service, resolving basic issues and guiding complex escalations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting across applications, networks, and infrastructure layers.
  • Maintain security reference data and leverage analytics (e.g., SQL queries) to support diagnostics.

Process & Compliance

  • Collaboration with compliance, legal, and infrastructure teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Compile outage reports and assess root causes for production incidents.
  • Streamline processes via end-to-end workflow improvement and tool enhancements.

Knowledge & Continuous Improvement

  • Curate and update technical documentation and FAQs.
  • Participate in release review meetings and capture development requirements for future iterations.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential: demystify technical concepts

  • Degree/applicable professional certification or 5+ years of evidenced industry experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel & Office Suite proficiency.
  • Technical/administrative support experience to develop expertise in troubleshooting.
  • FIX Protocol familiarity, as well as hands-on Linux-based system administration.
  • Version control (e.g., GIT) exposure.
  • SQL querying and relational database grasp.
  • UK/EU equity & derivatives markets understanding (order types, trading workflows, compliance).
  • Team leadership qualifications or equivalent contribution.
