Operations Team Lead ACA/ACCA Required
A high-performing boutique investment firm, specialising in equities and alternatives, is seeking an ambitious Investment Operations professional to step into an aspiring Team Lead role. Known for its strong performance and innovative product offering, the firm provides a collaborative, flat structure and genuine opportunity to progress into leadership. This role will initially focus on Investment Operations, with structured development across Fund Accounting and Valuations, offering a clear pathway into a broader leadership position spanning both functions. Working within a lean, high-impact team, responsibilities will include oversight of NAV production, reconciliations, and reporting, alongside wider middle and back-office activities. The role partners closely with front office teams and external providers, supporting fund activity, investor deliverables, and fund launches. A key element of the position is involvement in an ongoing systems transformation, providing the opportunity to shape processes, improve controls, and drive operational efficiency across the platform. From the outset, the successful candidate will take on informal leadership responsibilities, supporting junior team members, overseeing workflow, and contributing to team development, with a clear route into a formal Team Lead role. Candidates must hold a formal accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) and bring strong experience in investment operations within asset management. Exposure to equities and/or alternative asset classes is highly desirable. A solid understanding of NAV processes and fund accounting principles is essential. Prior mentoring or supervisory experience, a proactive mindset, and experience in process improvement or system implementation will be highly valued. Strong Excel skills, including VBA or macros, are advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into leadership within a growing, high-performing investment platform, gaining broad exposure and real influence over how the function evolves. Due to the volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to everyone individually unless your experience closely matches the requirements outlined above. We are committed to promoting fairness and equity throughout the recruitment process. If there is anything we can do to make the process more accessible or inclusive for you, please let us know.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
