Operations Team Leader (Full-Time)

Job Ref: 116361 Location: Thrapston Preferential Shifts: Saturday to Monday (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)


We’re looking for an Operations Team Leader to step up and lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment at DSV, a global logistics leader.


The Role

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a section within our warehouse, ensuring smooth workflows and supporting the management team in achieving business targets. This is a key role focused on performance, efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Performance:
    • Manage and motivate a team of operatives to meet KPIs and deadlines.
    • Train and develop new operatives while supporting ongoing career growth.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Maintain accurate records for inventory, stock movement, and orders.
    • Plan capacity needs and assist with stock takes.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance:
    • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards and promote a safe working culture.
  • Customer & Vendor Relations:
    • Serve as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers, and transport partners, ensuring seamless communication and high-quality service delivery.
  • Administration:
    • Produce reports, monitor performance, and contribute to process improvement.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced warehouse leader with the following qualities:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop others.
  • Exceptional communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive mindset and confidence in making informed decisions.
  • Good IT literacy, including proficiency in spreadsheets and warehouse management systems.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • (Advantageous) Holds a forklift licence and/or knowledge of lean techniques.
