Operations Team Manager (Dosing)

Operations Team Manager – 2 Days (2 Nights), 100% Onsite (Swindon)

Our Swindon site specialises in Zydis® fast-dissolve technology, setting the gold standard in patient convenience and adherence. Join us and be part of a passionate team transforming medicines for millions worldwide.

We’re looking for an experienced people-focused leader with expertise in fast-paced manufacturing to oversee our Operations Team Manager role—leading one shift team to deliver safety, quality, and performance in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.


The Role

As Operations Team Manager, you will:

Operations Leadership

✔ Lead the day and night shift operations teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality production. ✔ Manage a designated process area, ensuring staffing levels support seamless production. ✔ Deliver operational targets while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Health & Safety Champion

✔ Protect and promote site Health & Safety standards at all times. ✔ Conduct risks assessments and thoroughly investigate incidents. ✔ Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and site-specific safety protocols.

Quality & Compliance

✔ Champion cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance. ✔ Maintain an "Always Audit Ready" approach—ready for frequent inspections. ✔ Review and ensure timely and accurate completion of batch records.

Continuous Improvement

✔ Investigate deviations (RCA & 5 Whys) and implement preventative actions. ✔ Drive process enhancements to reduce waste and improve productivity. ✔ Support equipment reliability through planned maintenance reviews.

✔ Coach, develop, and mentor a team of up to 15 employees. ✔ Foster a positive, energised culture aligned with the business goals. ✔ Address attendance, performance challenges, and facilitate smooth communication.


The Candidate

We’re seeking a highly organised, proactive leader with:

  • Proven experience leading operational teams in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • A strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct structured root-cause analyses (RCA & 5 Whys).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with bonus experience in JD Edwards/TrackWise.
  • A pronounced results-driven approach, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent comunication, coaching, and mentoring skills, + the ability to inspire and develop teams for performance excellence.
