Base Location: Medway Power Station, Kent
Salary: SS06 £45,452 - £54,311 + shift allowance + skills shortage allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
The Role
We’re looking for an Operations Technician within our team at Medway Power Station, a world-class 735MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant, where you’ll play a key role in supporting safe, reliable and efficient generation.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;
- Operating, monitoring, and controlling gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, pumps and water treatment plants via the DCIS control system.
- Identifying and diagnosing operational issues, reporting defects via our electronic reporting system.
- Conducting routine operational checks, plant testing, and inspections to maintain performance and reliability.
- Taking part in continuous improvement and development projects to enhance plant efficiency and your own technical knowledge.
- Ensuring all operations are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental best practices.

- Operational experience in power generation or a transferable background in heavy industry.
- A relevant engineering qualification, for example an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- A team-focused, detail-oriented mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
