Business Unit: NH South West Location: Plymouth Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full-time (39 hours per week) – Monday to Friday

Summary

To carry out general maintenance works and operations under the supervision of a Chargehand.roles include a wide range of routine and cyclical tasks, responding to emergencies and call-outs during or outside working hours (on rotation), and assisting with winter maintenance activities as either a second man or driving mate. This role also includes fully qualified apprentices upon completion of training.

  • Current valid driving licence
  • CSCS card (if required by client)
  • Minimum standard of everyday behaviour as per company behaviour matrix

Specialist Skills

  • Ability to apply a wide range of general maintenance skills
  • Understanding and application of risk assessments in line with safe systems of work
  • Ability to follow written work specifications accurately
  • Typically, 12+ months of general operational experience preferred
  • Potential or desire to obtain an LGV licence
  • Completed training in:
    • General health & safety awareness
    • Risk assessment awareness
    • Traffic management
    • Use of PDAs (personal digital assistants), where relevant
  • Proficiency in small plant and equipment
  • Ability to operate a mini excavator
