The PositionOperative Job Summary OPERATIVE – Multiple Opportunities Across Cornwall We have multiple Operative positions available across a variety of sites, each offering different operational areas and shift patterns. Shifts vary by location and may include days, rotating shifts, or 12-hour days/nights. Shift allowances apply Salary & Hours Day shift (37.5 hrs/week) £24,784.50 per annum. 12 hour shifts (38.5 hrs.week) £25,445.42 per annum Shift allowance (12‑hour days & nights) £6,461.65 per annum Shift allowance (12‑hour days only): £4,174.82 per annum Shift allowance 2 shift- Monday to Friday only)£1,918.80 per annum Permanent, Full time The Company Imerys is the world’s leading supplier of mineral‑based speciality solutions for industry. The Opportunity We are recruiting Operatives across several of our Cornwall operations, including Mining, Refining and Drying. You’ll be part of a team that values the right attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. What You’ll Do Operate safely and comply with all Imerys EHS and Quality requirements Support daily operational activities across mining, refining or drying areas Monitor processes, inspect equipment to ensure the required quality of products is maintained and fit for onward processing and/or despatch to customers Use digital systems including SCADA or control‑room interfaces Operate or support mobile plant (training provided) Maintain high housekeeping standards Contribute to continuous improvement, including I‑Cube initiatives Communicate effectively across shifts Complete operational and reporting tasks accurately Training, Development & Progression We welcome applicants with all levels of experience — from those early in their career to experienced operators. What matters most is your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn. Extensive training will be provided specific to the function / role along with supervisory development routes.
