Operative - General - 150485
Business Unit: Surrey
Location: Guildford
Summary
To carry out general maintenance works and operations, working with a Chargehand, undertaking a wide range of routine and cyclical works. To respond to emergencies and call-outs during or out of hours on rotas as required, and assist with winter maintenance activities as a second man or driver’s mate. This includes apprentices who have fully completed training.
Desirable Skills
- Banksman plc
- Manual Handling
- Abrasive Wheels Certification
- Emergency First Aid
- Safe Dig (Safe Excavation)
- Current driving license
- CSCS card (if client requirement)
- Minimum everyday behaviour standards as per the company’s behaviours matrix
Specialist Skills
- Ability to apply a wide range of generalist skills
- Understanding and application of risk assessments
- Ability to understand and execute work as per specifications
- Minimum 12 months+ experience in a relevant role
- Potential and interest in obtaining an LGV license
- Completed training in:
- General health and safety awareness
- Risk assessment awareness
- Traffic management
- Use of PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) as required
- Operating small plant and equipment, including:
- Mini excavator

Contract Details
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday
