Field Service Technician – Integrated Power Services (IPS)

Are you a hands-on problem solver who loves to travel and provide exceptional customer service? Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a dynamic Field Service Technician to join our team.

In this role, no day will be the same. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while delivering top-tier service to our customers. You’ll work alongside some of the best technicians in the industry, utilising the latest technology tools and equipment. If you're passionate about your work, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working independently, IPS is the place for you.


Responsibilities & Expectations

We are looking for a talented Field Service Technician to perform:

  • Service, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
  • Electro-mechanical equipment inspections and testing, including:
    • AC/DC electrical tests using portable equipment
    • Laser alignment of equipment
    • Precision measurements (micrometres, torque specs)
    • Installation/removal of AC/DC electric motors
    • Replacement of sleeve and anti-friction bearings
    • Setting seals and air gaps, torquing critical components
  • Adherence to safety standards and operative policies/post-procedures
  • Unmatched customer experience with professional communication and problem-solving

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work effectively alone and in a team, contributing to mutual goals
  • Complete assigned work in compliance with standardised procedures
  • Demonstrate integrity, safety-first mentality, and proactive customer focus

Qualifications & Competencies

Preferred Experience:

  • Baker IR and PI testing experience
  • 2+ years in AC/DC motor repair/replacement
  • Experience in a similar electromechanical field

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute precise tasks
  • Analytical problem-solving skills for a fast-paced environment
  • Capacity to follow standardised work procedures
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and manage expectations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Willingness to:
    • Work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, on-call, and away from home
    • Travel locally and overnight
    • Perform basic arithmetic (fractions, percentages) and math functions
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
