As a Satellite Communications Technician in our TCS team, you’ll help deliver real time support for satellite ground and communication systems that play a vital role in global security and connectivity.

You’ll join a team whose work has purpose every day. From maintaining critical infrastructure to supporting uninterrupted operations on behalf of the United States Space Force (USSF), you’ll help create impactful solutions that contribute to a safer, more connected future.

What you’ll do as a Satellite Communications Technician

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Configure and operate a range of satellite ground and communication systems in real time, ensuring error-free performance.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, system checks, testing, troubleshooting and fault rectification.
  • Support safe operations by completing Document Reviews, Risk Assessments and Planned General Inspections.
  • Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders including USSF operations management and Serco colleagues.
  • Act as the senior operations representative in designated areas once fully certified.
  • Participate in shift work or a call-out rota depending on role type (Day or Shift Technician).
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new colleagues.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • GCSE Grade C in Maths and English.
  • A Level 3 BTEC diploma in Electronic Engineering or similar technical background.
  • Experience in testing and problem resolution in disciplines such as electronics, electrical, mechanical, IT or radio frequency (RF).
  • The ability to achieve and maintain Security Clearance.
  • A willingness to complete CompTIA Security+ certification and become Crypto Authorised (training provided).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
