Location: TCS Oakhanger, Bordon

As a Shift Operator in our TCS team, you’ll support the configuration and real-time operation of satellite ground and communication systems on behalf of the United States Space Force. Your work helps ensure flawless, uninterrupted satellite support that has a positive impact on global connectivity and missions that shape our shared future. You’ll play an important role in maintaining the smooth running of this critical site. With full training, mentoring, and support provided, you’ll join a team where your growth, contribution, and purpose have real meaning as part of the Space division’s trusted operations.


What you’ll do as a Shift Operator

  • Configure and operate Ground Station equipment in real-time.
  • Maintain routine daily operations within the Communications area.
  • Achieve and maintain certification on specific equipment and systems.
  • Uphold operational security standards in line with Space Force Operations procedures.
  • Complete documentation as directed by the Shift Supervisor or designated deputy.
  • Act as safety person for colleagues when required.
  • Support on-the-job training for new colleagues.
  • Assist with system checks, tests, troubleshooting, and rectification.
  • Maintain tidy and safe operational and workshop areas.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths.
  • Strong PC literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience in an electrical or electronic engineering environment (preferred).
  • A willingness to complete A+ certification and to achieve SC (Security Check) Clearance.
  • A full driving licence and readiness to drive company vehicles.
  • Willingness to become a rescue climber.
