Company Description

Maskell + Josephson is an independent optical practice dedicated to providing high-quality eye care, contact lenses, and spectacles. The team focuses on a top-notch and individualized service, ensuring that each client receives tailored advice and solutions for their visual needs.

In addition to core optical services, the practice offers a comprehensive dry eye service to support long-term eye health, and deals with all types of contact lenses.

Maskell + Josephson combines professional clinical care with a curated selection of eyewear to create an excellent experience for clients. The practice is committed to maintaining high standards in both clinical expertise and customer care.

Role Description

This is a full-time (though part-time roles will be considered for an otherwise perfect candidate), on-site role for an Optical Assistant and Eyewear Stylist based in Altrincham. The role involves welcoming clients, managing appointments, and supporting the optometrists with pre-screening and administrative tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Qualifications

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and a focus on Customer Satisfaction to create a welcoming, supportive client experience.
  • Clear and professional Communication abilities to explain eye care, eyewear options, and treatment plans in an accessible way.
  • Basic Optometry knowledge or experience in an optical setting to support pre-screening, lens selection, and dry eye services.
  • Solid Customer Service skills to manage appointments, handle inquiries, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Relevant experience in an optical practice or retail eyewear environment is highly beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions, orders, and client records.
  • Comfort with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills for scheduling and documentation.
  • Flexible, team-oriented approach and ability to work on-site full-time in Altrincham.
  • Experience with content creation and social media is a big plus.
