Our store
Specsavers Eastbourne is a modern opticians and audiology store located in the heart of the town centre. The store provides comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens services, OCT eye scans, children's eye care, and professional hearing services, including hearing tests and hearing aid fittings. With a friendly, experienced team and a wide selection of glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses to suit every style and budget, Specsavers Eastbourne is dedicated to delivering high-quality eye and hearing care with excellent customer service.

37.5 hours over 5 days including weekend requirements

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please take a moment to check you meet the criteria below before applying:
- You have GCSEs in Maths at grades 9–4 (A*–C), or an equivalent qualification
- You’ve lived in the EU for at least 3 years and have the right to work in the UK
- You’re not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
What does the role involve?
- Welcoming customers into store
- Booking in eye tests
- Pre-screening patients
- Providing style advice
- Measuring frames
- Taking phone calls
