About the Role
As Retail Assistant, you will be a fundamental part of our Boots Opticians store team, acting as the first and last person customers interact with. Working on the shop floor, your responsibilities include:
- Building strong customer relationships through active listening and understanding to recommend the best products or services.
- Greeting customers upon arrival, supporting pre-screening activities for eye-tests, and assisting customers in selecting eyewear solutions.
- No two days will be the same in this dynamic role.
As part of your role, you’ll also benefit from the ‘Step Into Optics’ training programme, which combines on-the-job experience with structured workshops to develop your knowledge in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
You will also be involved in:
- Ordering, dispensing, and collection of glasses and contact lenses
- Supporting with eye-tests and pre-screening activities
- Providing aftercare support for repairs and adjustments
- Completing operational and administrative tasks (e.g., dispensing prescriptions)
- Upholding shop floor standards
